Vanitha Narayanan ,IBM veteran makes it to the HCL board of directors

HCL Technologies Ltd. announced on Monday the appointment of Vanitha Narayanan as an Additional Director on the Board of directors, who shall hold office as an Independent Director of the Company. With the addition of Vanitha, the HCL board of directors includes four women directors.

Vanitha is a senior global executive and board leader and has a successful track record spanning three decades in technology and telecommunications.

She retired in 2020, after working for 30 years at IBM, where she held multiple vital roles leading large businesses in the US, Asia-Pacific, and India. The positions held by Vanitha at IBM include MD and Chairman of IBM India and other leadership roles in the global communications and telecommunications industries.

Vanitha Narayanan played an essential role as a leader and influencer across many industry bodies. Vanitha became the first female chairperson of the American Chamber of Commerce in India. She also served as a member of the National Executive Board and was on the executive council of NASSCOM.

She was named one of the ‘Most Powerful Women’ in Business in India by Fortune India and Business India, one of the 12 Global Indian Super Women of 2016 by CXOToday. She was awarded the Degree of Doctor of Letters by the LNM Institute of Information Technology.
