Uber recently announced that it is hiring nearly 250 engineers for its Bangalore and Hyderabad teams, as the company wants to expand the scope of operations for its engineering and product.
The hiring of 250 engineers will strengthen the rider and driver growth, delivery, eats, digital payments, risk & compliance, marketplace, customer obsession, infrastructure, ad tech, data, safety, and finance technology teams.
The company‘s expansion plans align with its vision to make mobility and delivery more accessible and strengthen transportation in over 10000 cities worldwide.
Manikandan Thangarathnam, Senior Director Engineering, Uber, said, “Teams in Hyderabad and Bangalore work on global mandates and pioneer various industry innovations. We are expanding our teams through the hiring to serve more customers globally and searching for bring minds to solve mobility and delivery challenges collectively.“
Uber is reaching out to prospective recruits to build new teams and add them to existing units, including Uber infrastructure, Eats, Marketplace, Risk and Payments, Uber for Business, marketing, and advertising platforms.
The company’s tech teams recently invested in technology building to enable safer rides and delivery; it also includes mask-detection features and updating of maps. In addition, Uber’s engineers are accelerating digital payments in many countries to facilitate the social distancing norms and using Machine Learning and AI to digitize several of its operations, including driver onboarding and uploading digital menus.
