Software Engineer starts selling vegetables after layoff

A 26-year-old woman Software Engineer took to selling vegetables for survival after getting fired from the IT company in Hyderabad due to the pandemic situation.

It is a challenging time for Indian Software Engineers and IT professionals as most of the It companies are cutting jobs and firing people due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

26-year-old Unadadi Sharada studied computer science engineering and worked as an analyst in Delhi for several years. Later, she joined the MNC in Hyderabad; however, after three months into the job, the Covid-19 pandemic started, and she was laid-off from the job.

To survive this difficult time and overcoming from the financial burden, she started selling vegetables. Every day at 4 am, she wakes up, goes to the wholesale market for buying vegetables, and then sells them on a during the entire day.

As reported in Livemint she said- “There is nothing to be ashamed of. It is a question of survival. I was able to pay house rent, meet other family needs, and live an honorable life with our hard work.”

She also mentioned that she would want to get a regular job as she doesn’t want to sell vegetables always.

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood got this news and offered a job to Sharada. The actor has assisted various people, including distressed daily wage earners, migrant laborers, stranded students amid the pandemic.
