Ola Electric said it has received around one lakh bookings for its upcoming scooter within the initial 24 hours of initiating the process. The firm had opened booking for its electric scooter on the evening of July 15.
“I am excited by the tremendous response from clients across the country for our first EV. The unprecedented demand is a crystal clear indication of shifting consumer preferences to Electric Vehicles. This is a major step forward in our mission to transition the world to sustainable mobility,” Ola Chairman and Group CEO Mr Bhavish Aggarwal stated.
Ola claims that the electric scooter would be class apart in terms of speed, range, boot space, and technology.
The firm has stated that the model would be priced aggressively to make it widely accessible.
The company to reveal the features and price of the scooter in the coming days.
The scooter will be made in India for the world. It would be manufactured at the firm’s two-wheeler factory, being built in Tamil Nadu.
The first phase of the Ola Futurefactory is nearly completed. It will be operationalised soon, while the total capacity of ten million vehicles per annum will be built by next year.
