Mumbai: Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS NSE -0.36 % ) on Monday surpassed Accenture to become the world’s largest IT company by market cap.
TCS stock touched Rs. 3,290 today, giving it a market capitalization of $169.2 billion. American-Irish company Accenture, listed on the NYSE, had a market cap of $168.4 billion.
It is NOT the first time that TCS has become the world’s most valuable IT company by having the largest market Cap, last October, it had briefly gone past Accenture as well. But Accenture had regained its top position the very same day. It might be hard for TCS to keep its top spot again, but TCS – as the world’s most valuable IT company is a proud movement for India and the Indian IT industry.
