Bluetab Solutions Group, a prominent data analytics expert, has been bought by IBM and integrated into its Data Services Consulting division. The deal’s terms have not been revealed.
Bluetab, founded by Tom Uhart and José Luis López in Madrid in 2006, provides data strategy, management, analytics, and cloud services to clients in the banking, telecommunications, energy, and utility sectors in Spain, Mexico, Peru, and Colombia. More than 700 data experts make up the company’s workforce.
According to the company, the acquisition will allow IBM to expand its data and hybrid cloud consulting services across Europe and Latin America. ‘The outside-in digital transformation of the past is giving way to the inside-out promise of using company-owned data with AI and automation to generate business value and develop intelligent workflows,’ says Mark Foster, SVP, IBM Services and Global Business Services. Our acquisition of Bluetab will accelerate our clients’ cloud migration and help them get even more value out of their mission-critical data.’
