Leading Information Technology Company, HCL technologies, on 14th September 2021, announced that it has signed a pact with leading South Korean software company HANCOM Inc to establish a mutual bridgehead for overseas expansion. The partnership between HCL and HANCOM will focus on sharing advanced software technology solutions.
According to a regulatory filing, HCL Technologies, as part of the partnership, will support software development training at HANCOM’s research and development (R&D) wing in India. HANCOM’s R&D center in India was established in 2016. The Indian tech giant would also share its development studio and provide HR support to the South Korean company to meet demand and development capacity at the Research and Development center.
In addition, HCL technologies will also promote technological cooperation to strengthen HANCOM products’ global competitiveness. The company statement pointed out that the two tech giants also intend to cooperate on the global market expansion.
It added that the cooperation on global market expansion includes HANCOM’s entry into Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Taiwan, and Bangladesh, Middle Eastern countries, and HCL Technologies’ business expansion into the South Korean market.
HCL Technologies Corporate Vice-President Sanjay Gupta stated that South Korea is a key strategic market for HCL, and this partnership with HANCOM will further help us grow and establish themselves in the region. Gupta added that they look forward to leveraging HCL’s next-gen technological skills along with HANCOM’s strong presence in the South Korean region to mutually support each other.
HANCOM Chief Operating Officer Daeki Kim noted that the Indian tech giant’s modern applications and architecture principles would allow HANCOM to scale its products to make them more suitable for enterprise clients in the global market and ultimately achieve global goals with its products. Kim added that the South Korean software giant would continue to support HCL in its aspiration to scale its growth in the South Korean market.
