According to an announcement, Capgemini has signed a six-year deal with the Ryder Cup. Ryder Cup is one of the most reputed tournaments in the sport of golf. Under this deal, Capgemini will be this tournament’s worldwide partner till 2027.
Along with Europe’s Ryder Cup, the firm has also signed an agreement with America’s PGA. In this season of the tournament, Capgemini will act as its worldwide supplier. The tournament will be 3 days long and will start on 24 September 2021 at the Whistling Straits in the USA.
Under this deal, both Ryder Cup, and PGA of America will leverage the technical support and solutions offered by Capgemini. Along with that, the tournament will be promoted by the IT firm across its locations.
According to the director and chief commercial officer of Ryder Cup, and the deputy chief executive of The European Tour, Guy Kinnings, Ryder Cup is one of the most-watched sporting events in the world. Now, technology plays a vital role in its successful delivery to the audience.
He said that Capgemini possesses innovation and expertise to help them successfully organize the modern Ryder Cup.
The future editions of this tournament will take place at Rome in 2023, and at Farmingdale in 2025. While it will be County Limerick which will host Ryder Cup in 2027. If this year the event gets completed successfully, then Capgemini will become one of its top sponsors for future editions.
Another investment of the firm in global sports includes the 2023 Rugby World Cup. The event is going to be hosted by France. Earlier this year, Capgemini added its name to the list of worldwide sponsors of this event.
Along with this IT firm, companies like Rolex, BP, Aon, RBC, and BMW are also on the worldwide sponsor’s list of the 2021 Ryder Cup.
