French IT firm Capgemini announced that the firm would cover Covid-19 vaccinations cost for all the employees and their immediate families.
Capgemini CEO, Ashwin Yardi, said that its employees’ health and well-being are the company’s highest priority.
Capgemini said the company would bear the employees’ vaccination expenses and dependents in a statement issued on Thursday. The vaccination will be strictly done by following government guidelines, protocols, and orders.
Ashwin Yardi said, “According to the Indian government protocols, the firm will cover the cost of the vaccination for all the employees and their family members who are part of our medical benefits program.”
Capgemini India has partnered with wellness firms to assist its team members with any queries related to the vaccine and solve any medical questions that their employees may have.
People with 60 plus years of age and those above 45 years with comorbidities are being immunized in the second phase of nationwide vaccination that started on March 1.
On Wednesday, Infosys and Accenture had said they would cover the COVID-19 vaccination expenses of their employees in India.
Infosys co-founders NR Narayana Murthy and Kris Gopalakrishnan, and Kotak Mahindra Bank MD and CEO Uday Kotak are among the business leaders who have received the Covid-19 vaccine.
The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on January 16 with immunization of healthcare workers (HCWs), while for frontline workers (FLWs), it started from February 2. More than 1.66 crore vaccine doses were given through 3,23,064 sessions, as per the provisional report, till Thursday at 7 am.
These include 67.9 lakh health care workers (1st dose), 28,72,725 health care workers (2nd dose), 58 lakh front line workers (1st dose) and 4,202 Front line workers (2nd Dose), 1,43,759 beneficiaries aged more than 45 years with specific comorbidities (1st dose) and 10,00,698 beneficiaries aged more than 60 years.
