Capgemini India to hire 24,000 employees; reskill existing employees in Java, Agile, and AI. 

Capgemini India is hiring 24,000 employees by the end of 2020. Capgemini India’s vision is to also train its exiting 50,000 employees in the latest tools and technologies for skillsets in demand in the market.

Capgemini India has the target of recruiting 24,000 employees in India by 2020. The company is on track to meet this target as it already onboarded 9,500 people in the first half of 2020. These newly boarded employees are a mixed bag of freshers and lateral hires.

According to Capgemini, the client’s expectations and demands are the driving force behind hirings and reskilling.

The Capgemini India Reskill Plan

There is a sudden increase in demand for emerging technologies in the market due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Many IT and Consulting companies are upgrading skillset of their employees.

Capgemini India is taking aggressive steps to reskill its Indian employees. The company has already reskilled about 50,000 employees in India in the first half of 2020.

Capgemini recently launched ‘Next,’ which is an AI-enabled digital learning platform for Capgemini employees. Capgemini collaborated with Coursera to provide employees option to upgrade themself with the latest Digital technologies and other emerging Tech.

According to Selvan Dorairaj, Vice President & Head of Learning and Development India, “Within 2.5 months of its launch, we had more than 50% of our employees registered on this learning platform.”

Focused Areas for Reskill

One of Capgemini’s key focus areas is digital transformation. Capgemini has selected multiple areas based on the current demand in the market and expected required skills post COVID-19. The areas of focus are majorly .Net; Java; Full Stack; Artificial Intelligence (AI), Agile and Automation. 

According to Selvan Dorairaj, Vice President & Head of Learning and Development India, Capgemini, said, “We strive to furnish employees with the requisite skills to deliver quality service to clients and provide learning opportunities for continuous development,”

Capgemini India announced salary hikes and promotions earlier this year, and now the company is all set to hire Indian talent and reskill existing staff.

The French IT Consulting Firm Capgemini has over 1,25,000 Indian employees of its global headcount of 2,70,000.
