Tech Mahindra has arranged a special chartered flight to bring back more than 210 employees and their dependents from the US.

As per Tech Mahindra, many employees and their dependents were stranded due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

Here is the information on Tech Mahindra USA to India Special Chartered Flight

  • Tech Mahindra arranged a special Chartered flight that departed from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on July 13
  • Special Chartered flight with more than 200 passengers will reach Hyderabad on Tuesday.
  • Tech Mahindra did not comment on if these employees are at risk of Visa expiry or their projects are over.
  • The majority of the people believe to be the employees who came on short term visas or have a compelling situation in their home country India.

Infosys was in the news last week to become the first Indian IT company to arrange a charter flight to bring back ~200 employees and dependents from the USA.

According to CP Gurnanani, MD and CEO, Tech Mahindra“Safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and partners are the priority during this pandemic.”

According to Harshvendra Soin, Global Chief People Officer and Head of Marketing TechMahindra, “Helping our people in the US, and bringing them back home reiterates our allegiance towards our core values.”

While many applaud this move from Tech Mahindra, there are many criticized referencing the recent incidents where few Tech Mahindra employees got COVID-19 positive cases.

After recent positive Covid-19 cases, Tech Mahindra had announced the testing of 20000 employees and vendors.

It is good to see that Tech Mahindra is taking a strong stand against COVID-19.
